The 2019 mockbuster Monster Island by The Asylum, which was ironically released around the same time as Godzilla: King of the Monsters, is about an island called Monster Island where a monster may be discovered, who is sort of the island, the Monster Island, if you will.


Because this movie is about an asylum, the budget is roughly equivalent to a big kid's dinner. The film uses it well. It is focused on a handful of human characters. The main stars (check here) are kept on one set so that all their sequences can be shot during lunch. It may not be a bad film, but the Asylum is still able to do well with it.
